Wednesday, May 2nd, 8:00pm: The Music of Robert Buckley - A West Vancouver Centennial Celebration Centennial Theatre, North Vancouver
The WVYB Symphonic Band with special guests will perform the music of this important Canadian composer, including music from the Olympic Games opening ceremonies and the world premiere of his magnificent new three movement work: 'Portraits of the North', composed for the WVYB Symphonic Band. Special guests include band alumni and guest conductors Ralph Ford and Dal Richards.

Recreation Centre - WVYB is open to all
musicians aged 9 to 19 even with no musical experience. Come May 9 to
get all your questions answered and find out if joining band in the fall is

Vision: "To engage the youth of yesterday, today and tomorrow in
the art of musical excellence, building on our legacy of pride, commitment and
community." Since 1931 the West Vancouver Youth Band has been providing excellence in music education for young people ages 9 to 19. Graduates of the band leave the program with a great appreciation of music, skill in playing an instrument, and the experience of being a part of this unique Community Band. The Band has four levels; beginner, junior, concert and symphonic band and our new String Ensemble. All levels rehearse in the Community Music Hall at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre.
